I’m a musician and producer based in Brighton, UK. My work includes recording, touring, production, engineering, musical direction, arranging, scoring and more.
Recording work
I’m primarily a guitarist and bass player, but my studio credits also include various brass instruments, synthesizers, drums, vibraphone, double bass and more with the likes of Lucy Rose, James Holden, Laura Marling and Bear’s Den. Check the discography page for more information.
Get in touch if you need a guitar, bass, synth or brass on your upcoming record. I also have a home studio setup and often record at home and send my parts via the internet. This has ranged from just playing a synth line on one of my vintage synths to entire brass arrangements. I enjoy working like this and it saves you having to pay for studio time.
Live
I’ve toured with the likes of Laura Marling, Bear’s Den and Willy Mason across Europe, Australia, North and South America and Asia including gigs at Sydney Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall and Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage.
Other live work includes cornet with Timber Timbre, James Holden, Broken Social Scene and Dan Mangan, bass guitar with Olympia and Fear of Men, double bass with The Leisure Society and Sarah Blasko and electronics with Can vocalist Damo Suzuki.
I also play regularly with Sons of Noel and Adrian, Eyes & No Eyes, The Mariner’s Children and Emma Gatrill as well as being a regular collaborator with Woodpecker Wooliams, Peggy Sue, Rachael Dadd, Rozi Plain, Alessi’s Ark and Kristin McClement.
Get in touch if you need a guitarist, bassist, synthesizer player, brass player or musical director for your upcoming live shows.
Musical Director
Some of my roles as a musical director have included arranging and scoring for brass, strings and woodwind, editing and arranging songs to specific lengths for live TV and radio, creating Ableton sessions including click tracks and playback track, software synths and midi automation, programming synthesizer sounds for live and record and putting whole bands together. Graphic design, web development, PR, record label, booking, etc!
Aside from playing music, I’ve had to learn to do a lot of things for myself to help promote my music. Occasionally I do these for other people too, including graphic design for a number of Davy Graham CD reissues, PR for Brian Eno’s Brighton Festival, releasing the debut album by The Leisure Society on my label Willkommen Records, booking UK/European tours for various bands, booking shows and festival lineups including artists such as Anna Calvi and This Is The Kit and building a large number of websites. Do get in touch if you’re interested in any of these services.
